Gabriel spent his career in the operational core of private markets, moving from front office investment management at Dolder Corporate Finance to middle office fund controlling and investor reporting at Alpha Associates and Ardian. That path gave him an unusually complete picture of how funds actually run, and where the gaps between investment decisions and operational execution tend to open up.

What he found consistently across those roles was the same pattern: investment teams executing at a high level while the operational infrastructure struggled to keep pace. Not for lack of effort, but because controlling, reporting, and investor communications rarely get the same dedicated focus as the investment side. That imbalance is what Avelia was built to correct.

Away from the desk, he is usually in the mountains, skiing in winter, cycling in summer, or experimenting in the kitchen with results of varying quality.
